has gloss	eng: The block statue is a type of memorial statue that first emerged in the Middle Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. The block statue grew in popularity in the New Kingdom and the Third Intermediate Period, and by the Late Period, this type of statue was the most common. These statues were used in temples typically as funerary monuments of non-royal yet important individuals. According to primary sources from the New Kingdom, the posture of the statue was possibly intended to resemble a guardian seated in the gateway of a temple. In addition, their simple shape provided ample flat surfaces for inscriptions of offerings and invocations.

has gloss	deu: Als Würfelhocker bezeichnet man einen ägyptischen Statuentyp, bei dem eine auf einem Sockel sitzende Person mit angewinkelten, einander berührenden Knien dargestellt wird. Die Arme sind um die Knie geschlungen und gekreuzt, während die Füße flach auf dem Boden stehen. Oftmals trägt die dargestellte Person ein langes Gewand, so dass nur der Kopf und die Füße zu erkennen sind und der Körper einen Würfel bildet. Der Sockel ist mit Hieroglyphen beschriftet und gibt Auskunft über den Dargestellten.

has gloss	spa: La estatua cúbica fue un estilo estatuario egipcio que apareció a comienzos del Imperio Medio (c. 2040 - 1795 a. C.); tuvo una larga duración, como muestra la estatua de Uahibra, gobernador del Alto Egipto durante el Periodo tardío (c. 672 a 525 a. C.). Representaba a una persona sentada, casi siempre un varón, con las rodillas dobladas y juntas y los brazos cruzados por encima de ellas. A menudo vestía una larga túnica, de modo que sólo la cabeza y los pies identificaban en el cubo un ser humano. El pedestal tenía grabados jeroglíficos con información acerca del personaje representado.
